Professor Stanton Newman
Professor Stanton Newman will serve Lytics in a scientific advisory role with preventive care workflows and the management of Chronic Disease as his focus. Professor Newman has been Head of The Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioural Science and the interdisciplinary Centre for Behavioural & Social Sciences in Medicine at UCL. He also served as Dean of Health Sciences at City, University of London and is currently a Professor at City University of London and one of the Vice Presidents of the University.
He has a specialist interest in the management of Chronic Diseases and has worked in the area in a number of conditions including cardiovascular disease, arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes and end stage renal disease. He has developed effective techniques and programmes to support patients self-managing their conditions.
Dr. Newman is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and an Honorary Member of the Royal College of Physicians and has published widely in a range of medical and psychology journals with over 250 papers and chapters to date and has co-authored 10 books, including Chronic physical illness: self-management and behavioural interventions.
At the annual European Renal Association and European Dialysis Transplant Association’s congress in 2013, Professor Newman and colleagues received the prestigious award 'Annual Congress Top 10 Research Papers’.
